You know that cats are very helpful and generous beings. So We, Zarathustra the Cat, decided to help to the great English painter Thomas Gainsborough to finish his famous masterpiece “Mr. and Mrs. Andrews.”

This nice couple of humans needed a cat to fill the unpainted spot on the laps of Mrs. Andrews:

We a made a best cat’s gift to the female human: We generously brought a dead pheasant to the lady. Now you may see a vivid emotion oh her face, and her husband seems to have a grin of happiness:

And We are so proud of Ourselves! We are natural born hunter!

Look at the commonly known version of the painting in the collection of the National Gallery, London:

Definitely, Mr. Gainsborough intended to paint a bird on laps of the lady; she looks so not impressed!

We think her husband was unable to get her a birdy, so We made a gift with all Our respect and mercy, both to the lady and to the painter who has his birthday today

Happy birthday, Thomas Gainsborough!

Please enjoy Our precious gift!

Thus speaks Zarathustra the Cat

N.B. We brought a painted bird, but please watch your cats who may be not so fond of fine art, and could hunt birds in real life. Please kindly but firmly prevent your cats from mixing up life and art.
